Ivy Connection FAQ

What is an Ivy Connection?
An Ivy Connection is a chartered Alpha Phi alumnae chapter designed to offer a bridge from collegiate life to alumnae life.  Ivy Connections provide social and professional networking opportunities for young women just starting out in the world. Click here to join us today!

What is the difference between an Ivy Connection Chapter and a Traditional Alumnae Chapter?
Ivy Connection chapters cater to women who have graduated within the past ten years from college.  The specific purpose of Ivy Connections is to help women make the transition from an active, collegiate Alpha Phi into a lifelong Alpha Phi alumnae by offering specific programming with their interests in mind.  While "Traditional" chapters also promote "Alpha Phi for life," these chapters sponsor events for women of every age range.

Both Ivy Connection and Traditional Chapters are officially sanctioned and recognized alumnae organizations within Alpha Phi International.

Who can join?
Any Alpha Phi alumnae is welcome to join the Greater Philadelphia Ivy Connection.  Our events, marketing, and chapter sisterhood is targeted towards those members who have graduated within the past ten years; sisters who have passed this milestone are invited to join the traditional Greater Philadelphia Alpha Phi Alumnae Chapter.

I was an Alpha Phi in college, but resigned my membership or transferred to a school that doesn't have a chapter.  Can I still join the Ivy Connection?
To be a member of the Greater Philadelphia Ivy Connection, you must be a current member of Alpha Phi.  In some instances, membership can be reinstated by Alpha Phi International.  Please contact us for assistance.

I'm not an Alpha Phi, but I always wanted to join a sorority. Can I join the Ivy Connection?
Yes! Women who have never been initiated into a Greek life organization are welcome to join Alpha Phi as an alumnae initiate.  Please contact us for additional information.

How much are dues and what do they go towards?
Dues are $20 annually and help pay for chapter operational expenses, events, donations to the Alpha Phi Foundation, and to help send a delegate to International Convention.  Download and mail your dues form today or you can pay online via credit card.
